The buzz on coffee
15th 2010 April 2010

True to its vibey reputation, the international coffee scene is picking up on two new trends. The first is the use of new and innovative coffee products, and the second is the consumption of speciality coffees.

The first trend involves breaking coffee down to its core essence of an espresso and then building it up into something different. Your cup of java could evolve into coffee yoghurt, coffee mousse or even coffee caviar.

Lavazza has contributed to this new development with a collection of espressos blended with gourmet ingredients in unusual and delicious flavours, including orange, Amaretto, hazelnut and chocolate. The resulting range includes hot drinks such as Marocchino, Cappuccino Aroma and Cappugiro.

The second trend involves creating ways of making better coffee. This can be achieved by creating special blends and lighter roasts. The way the coffee is made – from the temperature of the cup to the finishing touches – is the main focus here.
