It was also the only wine from the Klein Karoo which received a gold medal. This wine was recently chosen as the Best-Value-For-Money in the Unusual Red Wine category by Wine-of-the-Month Club.
The winemaking brothers, Boets and Stroebel Nel, recommends this wine with Karoo lamb or Ostrich fillet.
De Krans' Cape Tawny Port was also the best Tawny Port at the competition and was awarded a silver medal. This port has already received several awards and it received a 4 star grading in the 2008 John Platter Wine Guide.
