Made up of a group of sommeliers and graphic artists, Die Kleine Wyn Koöp seeks out those wines that are too small or too unique for the commercial market. Their first release, Debutant, an old world style wine made with Swartland grapes, is an edition of only 600 bottles, each hand-numbered. The group lists the tasting notes as “violets, prunes, red berries, salt, soft, straw hat, writing ink, tobacco, dry grassland, renosterbosse dirt, rusted road signs full of bullet holes, dark-haired sheep, shorts weather, and heat stroke.” Find it at Protea Liquor store in Stellenbosch.
